With more than 25 years of experience in operations, business development and project management roles, Misty Ann Khan uses her diverse experience to help organizations successfully navigate change.
After earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Texas in 1989, Misty began her career at Barrios Technology integrating orbital maneuvering software with other mission control applications as well as mapping the process for space station software reconfiguration between missions. She then earned a Master of Science degree in Environmental Management from the University of Houston at Clear Lake while working in the ARCO Chemical corporate environmental affairs group. During her tenure at ARCO and Barrios, Misty honed her business process mapping and optimization skills to facilitate evaluation and implementation of multiple software applications and capital projects.
In 1997 Misty joined the Productivity Point International Global Solutions Team as a Global Account Manager where she helped expand Fortune 500 client portfolios to include customized global IT training programs. In 2001 Misty was recruited by Telerx Marketing, a provider of customer support services looking to expand into the energy and electricity industry, as Vice President of Business Development. While at Telerx, Misty was elected to the North American Energy Standards Board where she helped draft uniform business practices for the newly deregulating electricity industry.
In 2003 Misty founded Advena Artemis LLC where she used her sales and marketing background coupled with her operations and process optimization experience to provide management consulting services across multiple industries including retail, manufacturing, upstream, midstream and downstream energy, financial services, and transportation. After several years consulting with clients in each of these sectors, Misty repeatedly observed the challenges associated with major organizational change whether it be from a new sales process, new software implementations, or mergers and acquisitions. She then re-focused her practice on helping identify risks associated with major changes and planning to mitigate those risks. Through her change management programs, Misty helps clients better understand the needs and concerns of stakeholders as well as develop a plan to keep them in the loop during transitions and assure readiness through appropriate training and preparation.
Misty enjoys running completing the 2004 Houston Marathon and several other charity races as well as traveling and spending time with her family and friends. She serves on the advisory boards for KIPP Academy Houston and Devereux Texas. Misty resides in Houston, TX with her two sons and their two Labrador retreivers.
